October 10th always marks one of my very favorite days of the year. Not only is it usually filled with golden rays of autumn sunshine, perfect 60 degree sweater weather, and the lingering smell of dry leaves & bonfire.. but I get to celebrate all of the wonderful things about this beautiful girl!
If you are a client of mine, you have probably seen her running around with me on the weekends (or on my Friday night Instagram Story of our pre-wedding dance parties). If you are a friend of mine, you probably know that she grew up in the house next door and that we have been practically sisters our whole lives. And well, if you are neither you should probably get to know her and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY today!
Here are a few fun facts about Rachel:
She has a degree in Mathematics from the U of M (and formerly UMD)
When she is not out being creative, she is a nanny for the sweetest family
She is fluent in American Sign Language
Not only is she a great photographer, but talented at drawing and hand lettering too
Ever since I can remember she is always running 10 minutes late (which in recent years has rubbed off on me – thanks Rache)
If she could spend the rest of her life anywhere in the world, it would be Lake Como, Italy (where she spent her honeymoon #jealous)
When you don’t know what to get her for a gift, anything from Anthropologie is a safe bet
On May 17, 2014 she married the love of her life and fellow Spring Lake Park HS sweetheart, Andrew
She eats mac & cheese or noodles with butter & parmesan at least once a week
I have always thought that I was the “big sister” in our relationship, but over the last 26 years I have been the one looking up to Rachel; she has taught me so much. Rachel is such a display of grace, always putting others before herself. She has a beautiful love and heart for Jesus, and is a disciple for those around her. She never fails to find the positive in a tough situation and is always there to provide encouragement and perspective. I admire her love of learning and passion to grow and excel in all that she does. She has taught me persistence, kindness, and how to love unconditionally. Ever since we were little she has always been finding ways to be joyful in the smallest of things, sometimes in unconventional ways and places, but there has never been an absence of laughter when we are together.
Rachel, you are such a light for those around you. You are talented, beautiful, intelligent, and so truly inspiring. Words will never be enough to express the joy you have brought to my life.
I love you and hope you have an AMAZING day!
